Councilman Rich Wall
Borough of Wood-Ridge Councilmember
Rich has served as a Councilmember for the Borough of Wood-Ridge since April 17, 2024. He currently holds several key positions: Chair of the Buildings & Grounds Committee, Vice Chair of the Law, Land Use & Code Enforcement Committee, and Member of the Finance, Insurance & Administration Committee. Additionally, Rich serves on the Special Committee on School Facilities and acts as the Borough’s Liaison to Bergen County Community Development.
Community Service
Rich is a dedicated volunteer, serving as a Board Member for multiple organizations within Wood-Ridge, and contributing countless hours to his community. Over the past decade, he has been an active coach in various sports programs, including Little League & Babe Ruth Baseball, Recreation & Travel Soccer, and Basketball.
Knights of Columbus St. Anthony Council #11585
- Rich has been a member since 2015, serving as Grand Knight from 2022-2024 and currently holds the position of Officer/Trustee. He chairs the annual Knight of Honors event, which recognizes community members for their achievements, including awards such as the Police Shield Award, Fire Shield Award, Community Service Award, Senior Citizen of the Year, and CCD Teacher of the Year. In recognition of his contributions, Rich was honored with the Knight of the Year Award in 2020. He has also chaired various other events, including the St. Patrick’s Dinner and Father’s Day Communion Breakfast, and is actively involved in events like the Santa Pancake Breakfast and the Intellectual Disabilities Drive.
Wood-Ridge Recreation & Travel Soccer Programs
- Rich has been a Board Member of the Wood-Ridge Recreation Soccer Program since 2016 and currently serves as Treasurer. He has held several leadership positions within the program, including Division Coordinator, and has been a volunteer coach for more than 10 years. Since 2021, Rich has also been Treasurer of the Wood-Ridge Soccer Club, Inc., overseeing the Strikers Travel Soccer Program, a non-profit organization. His commitment spans both recreational and travel soccer programs in his community.
Wood-Ridge Little League Softball & Baseball and Travel Programs
- Rich joined the Little League Board in 2021 and currently serves as the Player Agent. He initially joined as the Fundraising Coordinator, working diligently to raise funds for equipment, uniforms, and other essential supplies. For over 10 years, Rich has volunteered as a coach for both Little League, Travel and Babe Ruth Baseball.
Wood-Ridge Recreation Commission
- Rich served as a Recreation Commissioner from January 2022 to April 2024, acting as the liaison for Recreation Soccer and Little League. In this role, he actively supported all Wood-Ridge Recreation programs.
Our Lady of Assumption Church
- For over 5 years, Rich has been an usher at Assumption Parish, further demonstrating his dedication to his faith and community.
Wood-Ridge PTA
- Rich is an active member of the Wood-Ridge PTA
Personal & Professional Life
Rich and his wife, Regina, have lived in Wood-Ridge for over 20 years, raising five children: Alexis, Kaitlynn, Isabella, Jake, and Shane. Jake and Shane currently attend school in Wood-Ridge. Regina is also involved in the community as the Treasurer of the Wood-Ridge PTA and as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Wood-Ridge Little League Softball & Baseball. The family are parishioners of Our Lady of Assumption Church.
Rich holds a BA in Political Science from Ramapo College and has worked as an executive in the banking industry for over 30 years.
